Alan and I moved downstairs to the bottom apartment so we could decorate the living room/ kitchen in the upstairs apartment, to enable us to be ready part of our holiday lets. The morning after we had moved downstairs, I seemed to come up in a couple of large spots. We had moved our huge comfortable circular bed downstairs with us with nice clean sheets, so we were not quite sure what has caused it! Although we new the bottom apartment had not been used for at least 18 months so not sure if anything was lurking in a corner!
The next couple of days went on and the 'rash' got worste. One morning we went into town and called into our friend David the pharmacist. He was unsure what it was and asked his brother, also a pharmacist. At that time the rash was all up my legs and around my body, and was extreeeeeeemly itchy. I had tried many creams and was unsure what to do next. At that time David's brother thought I may have been being bitten by a microsopic spider........... YIKESSS!
Well the days went on, and I woke up one morning and was almost covered in this strange rash, with different size lumps and bumps all over my body. I was just out of my mind with the itchyness, and I did the only thing I could think of. I jumped in the cold swimming pool, fully clothed and cried like a baby! I think at that point Alan and I both realised this needed to be treated, and I made an appointment with the doctor. For some reason, well I guess the reason that I have never suffered from any allergies before, I never thought to take antihistamine. So this was the first step, and it worked, within a few hours I was completely relieved of the ripping of skin, itchyness that I had been feeling. Even now, and we are actually in September, I still take the antihistamine some days when I wake up with this rash. I am not sure if we will ever get to the bottom of it, but at least the tablets work!
